AVF Awarded Three-Star Carbon Neutral Status

about/news/avf-awarded-three-star-carbon-neutral-status

AVF Group is today pleased to announce it has achieved the coveted three-star carbon neutral status for further reducing their carbon emissions.

In 2008 AVF Group became the world's first mount manufacturer to go carbon neutral, a move that was the first step in a group-wide eco-friendly initiative to reduce and offset carbon emissions produced by the company. This year AVF again worked with Carbon Footprint Ltd to analyse all aspects of their business to calculate the CO2 emitted through product manufacture, distribution, business travel and running offices in the UK and US. The result of the audit found that the eco-initiative has resulted in a drop in energy consumption and carbon output, an achievement that has been recognised with AVF being awarded three-star carbon neutral status.

David Gallimore, Chief Executive of AVF Group, said:

I am once again delighted that AVF has been awarded carbon neutral status, but I'm especially pleased that as a company we have been able to reduce our energy consumption and carbon output over the past year. Our aims now are to continue to reduce our carbon footprint further, and to continue to adopt an eco-friendly approach with the design and manufacture of our products.

Eco Range of TV Wall Mounts Announced

about/news/eco-range-of-tv-wall-mounts-announced

An exciting new range of TV wall mounts, offering benefits to consumers, retailers and the environment, has been announced today.

AVF’s ‘eco range’ is a complete collection of flat panel TV wall mounts based on one modular family look. Thirteen flat panel mounts offer functionality from flat-to-wall through to multi-position in small, medium and large size categories, and are complimented by accessory mounts and cable management products.

Designed and manufactured with the interests of three key groups in mind, features such as 50% smaller pack sizes, a themed family look and modular common components all translate into real benefits for consumers, retailers and the environment.

Consumers benefit from an easy to understand range and are able to take confidence in the simplicity suggested by smaller packs, confidence which is rewarded by the easy-to-install modular mount design.

Small pack sizes offer logistical savings for retailers and enable them to obtain more cash profit per square metre than with any other wall mount range. The easy-to-understand range reduces staff confusion and boosts trade-up opportunities.

Above all, the environmental benefits of the eco range set the products apart from any other range of wall mounts. An efficient manufacturing process utilises common parts and less raw materials, environmentally sensitive packaging is used for all products in the range, and significantly, smaller pack sizes result in 50% less packaging, 50% less transportation and consequently 50% less CO2 emissions.

David Gallimore, Chief Executive said:

AVF have always designed and manufactured products with both retailer and consumer in mind. However, after AVF were awarded carbon neutral status earlier this year our innovations team have made a concerted effort to minimise the impact the products in the new range have on the environment. The result is a fantastic range of wall mounts with real environmental credentials that also benefits retailers and customers alike.

AVF will be showcasing their eco range at the IFA exhibition in Berlin from August 29th – September 3rd at the ICC Berlin, Hall 26, Stand 104.

AVF Corners The Market

about/news/avf-corners-the-market

AVF Group, a world leading supplier of high quality TV wall mounts, will be officially launching their latest innovative wall mount, the Cornermount, at the IFA exhibition in Berlin in August.

The ‘floating’ Cornermount is a world first: no other product on the market allows both TV and components to be mounted across a corner whilst maintaining such a complete range of movement for the entire AV system.

By raising both the TV and accessories off the floor in a complete all-in-one solution, the Cornermount saves space and makes a room look bigger. Cable management is achieved through the central column, whilst tilt, sideways lateral shift and 15 degree rotation left and right provide manoeuvrability. Accessory shelves are height adjustable and rotate in tandem with the screen to maintain a neat aligned look. Telescopic arms that attach to the corner walls are adjustable to allow easy positioning on studs, and as the mount is attached to two walls it offers unrivalled stability and security.

Simon West, Innovations Director said:

The unique design of the Cornermount offers a secure yet flexible corner mounting solution not found with any other mount on the market. What makes the Cornermount stand out amongst the competition, aside from the innovative engineering, is the visually stunning floating appearance it gives to the complete home cinema system that has to be seen to be believed.

AVF will be showcasing the Cornermount at the IFA exhibition in Berlin from August 29th – September 3rd at the ICC Berlin, Hall 26, Stand 104.

Orbital Becomes The World's First Mount Manufacturer To Go Carbon Neutral

about/news/orbital-becomes-the-worlds-first-mount-manufacturer-to-go-carbon-neutral

AVF Group, parent company of Orbital Holdings Inc. is today pleased to announce it has become the world's first mount manufacturer to go carbon neutral. The move is the first step in a group-wide eco-friendly initiative that will reduce and offset carbon emissions produced by the company.

Working with Carbon Footprint Ltd, AVF analysed all aspects of their business to calculate the CO2 emitted through product manufacture, distribution, business travel and running offices in the UK and US. After establishing the carbon footprint of the business, reduction solutions were identified and plans were put in place to reduce energy consumption. Finally, carbon emissions were offset through projects producing 'clean energy' from renewable sources.

David Gallimore, Chief Executive of AVF Group, parent company of Orbital holdings Inc., said:

The effects of carbon emissions on the environment and resulting climate change are common knowledge, so in addition to our responsibilities on a personal level, we also have the same environmental responsibilities as a business. For AVF, becoming carbon neutral is only the start of an ongoing concerted effort to minimize and mitigate the effect of our business on the environment. We're committed to reducing our carbon footprint further, and we have a number of initiatives that will be rolled across all areas of our business to meet this aim.
